Simmons Wedding │ October 16, 2021


Matthew and I celebrated our wedding with our friends and family on October 16, 2021. We had the best day and made the best memories. A short compilation of photos and videos can be found here. We love all of you and are so grateful for your investment in us.

My mom was the real MVP here - she hand-made most of the wedding details, if you can believe that. Our wedding colors consisted of a variety of fall hues to complement the October setting. The wedding ceremony and reception both took place at Kincaid Manor in Mississippi. Our wedding planner, Heather Marsalis, helped get the venue ready and plan they day. Our beautiful flowers were by Bride of Boaz. Clancy's Cafe catered our meal, and Karen Woodlee made the most perfect cakes. Perfection DJs managed the sound, Gypsy Nix did my hair and makeup, and Lauren Tyler Photography was our photographer. A great team of people made this special day possible.

THE CEREMONY


Matthew and I exchanged our own vows, and our minister was none other than our high school youth pastor, Dan Francis. We were so thankful Dan and Janelle could join us on such a long-awaited day. My sister, McKenzie, surprised us with a song she wrote just for us. She brought everyone to tears.

My sister, McKenzie, created and presented this incredible song about Matthew and I at our wedding ceremony. Thank you, Kenzie. You are so talented and this made everyone cry endlessly. It still does every time I hear it. We love you.

THE RECEPTION


Our reception consisted of first dances, barbecue, laughter, and good times. Catering was by Clancy's. As a Memphis native, we knew we had to have barbecue. Our beautiful cake was made by our long-time family friend, Karen Woodlee. Kincaid Manor has a beautiful indoor/outdoor reception venue surrounded by forest. The weather that day was perfect. The music genres were as variable as Matthew and my taste in music, and we danced and partied in the best company.

FIRST DANCE

We started out with Marry Me by Train, and transitioned into Girl Named Tennessee by needtobreathe. Both songs are meaningful to us - we always planned on Marry Me by train, and Matthew introduced me to Girl Named Tennessee when we began dating.

We had the best day with our family and friends. Thank you to everyone who made this day possible - our vendors, bridal party, friends, and most of all our family. We couldn't imagine a better way to begin the rest of our lives. This was truly our long-awaited, perfect day.
